I've got cold feet. After months of dreaming, researching and planning my blog is ready to go. Except, I've got cold feet. What made me think I could write about my life, my dreams, my longings and share them with the world? I haven't a clue. I'm shy. In my senior year of high school I secretly shared with my Honors English teacher how I'd gladly take a failing grade even if it meant I would be thrown out of the Beta Club because it was impossible for me to present my final term paper to the class. I really am shy. Even though I enjoy volunteering at my daughters' school and being on the PTO Board, I always tell them "I'll help out with whatever you guys need as long as I don't have to speak in public because I'm shy". Now I'm shy and I have cold feet about doing something I totally got myself into. But I've done all this work and I'm still in love with all my favorite blogs. Each one has a bit or a piece that reminds me of me. So I guess I'll have to warm up my feet and blog.

"Just like opening a present..." That's just what a comment on your blog is like. Thanks so much for yours! I only hope you aren't disappointed if you should read Settling because it's not set in Appalachia, but in southern New England and NYC. Still, the story could have happened almost anywhere, I believe.
You may be shy, but you put up wonderful reading matter! Congratulations on a fascinating site.

Tipper, I know exactly how you feel. I never thought I could have a blog...who would want to listen? But it has been so good for me. Even if no one reads it it motivates me to think and create!
It took me awhile to get up the courage. Reading all the wonderful blogs out there made me want to be involved!
You have such a beautiful blog already. So much heritage and love! I posted on this post because in coming up with my name, the one that seemed to fit was "Two Cold Feet"! I'll be coming back many times for more great posts I am sure. Great Job. Love Stacy

See! Your a natural. What a compelling, honest and interesting post. You just gotta jump in. Do you know that song that says to dance like no one is watching? You have got to blog like no one is reading. All that you will ever receive is what I refer to as "blog love". Support, kindness and thoughtful words is all that will come back to you. Blogging is perfect for the shy . . . only complete strangers (in real life) read it OR people that you tell about your blog. Go Tipper!
