This is how me and my mamma always make our pickled corn. It always turns out good. I try to go by the signs but mom says when it's ready to put up then it's ready.
Congratulations on the movie. I'll have to check it out.

Yep, I saw CNN & the Possum Drop, too-say it ain't so, Tipper!

Glad the corn turned out good..I used to help mama make it all the time.. We love that stuff.. Congrats on the movie and congrats to the winner of the book.

Pickled corn and a movie? That don't sound right. Shouldn't that be popcorn? Who sez?
I know you are going to think I'm weird but when I saw the picture I thought "baby teeth." But then there's yellow ones. OK, what's wrong with weird?
I got my book in the mail and it is signed by the author so at least I know she touched it. I read a little already and so far its about as good as it gets. I'll be waiting for the preacher book.
I ordered the movie too. Can't wait to see my three most favoritest stars. Do youins talk in it or just look beautiful?
Congratulations Joyce! I hope you know how lucky you are that I withdrew my name from the drawing!
Tipper - Is my name still in that hat for the next giveaway?

Tipper,
First I want to comment on a line I saw on CNN...That a possum drop was now illegal...They didn't say where it was...but the store looked that one in Brasstown...Is it true?

Next, That pickled corn is just beautiful and looks delishous..
Can you wash and drain it and then stir fry it with country spices and butter...or cream it like regular corn..
Next...I am glad we have a source for the movie..Great, I will order one...
Final, congratulations to Ms. Taylor on winning Barbara's book...I know she will love it..
Four days til turkey day...
Does Deer Hunter hunt the feathered buck...? or Maybe Jims has extras...
Thanks Tipper,

Tipper,
I really enjoyed the movie you all
were in and I plan to get several
copies for my folks. You can't find clean movies with a bit of
laughter in 'em like "If I Had
Wings To Fly". Besides, it shows
the world how the folks of our
Appalachia really are...Ken

Tipper,
I'm glad you pickled corn turned out great. Mama used to make this and I loved it.

Congratulations upon the movie. I'm sure you and the girls had a lot of fun making it.

I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Humm! I have had pickled beets, but not corn. It looks good and probably goes well with a picnic type of lunch/dinner. It might look good for Thanksgiving. I think that is another recipe I need to try. I am glad that your movie came out; I will go into the site and read up on it and try to watch some wonderful people. Happy Day!

A big THANK YOU, Tippper for sharing my book. You've got a Yankee dime a'coming!

Each comment offering encouragement, support and wisdom warmed my heart. We share a lot of gold--golden memories, golden leaves, golden sunsets and golden friends like you. Our hearts are knitted together with golden threads that will never rust.

It's Not My Mountain Anymore is slowly becoming a tool to give back to the mountains, that gave soooo much to me.

Congratulations to Joyce Taylor, winner of a free copy! Geee... we share the name Taylor. Perhaps we'll meet up someday! Enjoy!!

Blessings to all!
Barbara

Congratulations Joyce! Sounds like a wonderful book.

I like that Tipper, a movie about nothing! It very accurately depicts the difference between country life and city life and it is sweet!

That corn sure looks good!
